Digging a stump out disturbs paths, fences and garden beds nearby; grinding doesn't. - Most eucalypts and ornamental trees won't regrow once ground this deep. Camphor laurel, privet and some wattles can sucker from roots left in the ground; we'll say if yours is one. - The back-filled grindings settle as they break down; top up with soil before turfing. - No council approval is needed to grind the stump of a tree that was legally removed. ## What affects the price Stump diameter and height, how many stumps, access (the narrowest point of the side path), roots spreading under paths or paving, whether the grindings are removed, and whether a tree removal is needed as well. Prices are not published: send a photo with something for scale (a spade, a shoe) and the access width and Alex quotes the stump from the photo (confirmed 2026-10-03). Other tree work is quoted on site within 24–48 hours. ## Related - Main website with every service, suburb and council guide: https://www.tree-services.com.au/ - Council tree rules for 32 Sydney councils: https://www.tree-services.com.au/council-tree-rules/ - Google reviews: https://www.google.com/maps/place/?q=place_id:ChIJC5Olhctr5UkR-81ARND8yD8 ## Site credit Built by System C Pty Ltd (https://www.systemc.com.au/).
